Absolutely adorable, 14" tall, beautiful composition, signed across her shoulders
: ALEXANDER/PAT. No 2171281
"Jeannie Walker"
doll by Madame Alexander, circa 1941. This charming little miss has gorgeous (clear) brown sleep eyes with perfect sable eyelashes, brows, eyeshadow, rosy cheeks and a sweet little closed mouth.
Advertised in 1941 as,
"Jeannie Walker, the Doll that Sits, Stands and WALKS like a Perfect Little Lady. Take her by the hand and she walks as easily as the little girl she depicts."
She has a swivel head and joints at her shoulders and walks with the aid of a pin that goes through her legs and bottom of her torso. Her original soft brown wig looks like it has been shortened or thinned a long time ago but still becomes her. She has
blushed knees and hands
with no cracks or chips, no paint flakes or damages (slight paint wear inside her neck socket) and wears a charming vintage, white organdy blouse with button detail and vintage, plaid woolen, pleated skirt, original cotton panties, socks and replaced shoes with side buttons as well as a small straw hat with ribbon trim. Her blouse and skirt have square snaps and there are a few worn areas on her skirt (no moth damage) that could easily be stitched. This is an
especially nice example
of a hard to find, early Alexander doll. (loc 24) She has no damages or repairs, no repainting and no odors as she is from a smoke free home. Larger Alexander doll is
not included
and listed separately.
